The Institute Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt combines - as a three-panel house of the arts - the Exhibition Hall and the Wedding Towel, the Artists' Colony Museum as well as the municipal art collection Darmstadt with works from 1800 to the present.

With a permanent presentation on the pioneering achievements of the Artists 'Colony in the Artists' Colony Museum and several special exhibitions during the year, the Institute Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt is in particular dedicated to the research, presentation and mediation of art and culture around 1900 to contemporary art.
